Host-Guest Interaction onto Electrode Surface between Urea based Receptor and Neuroblastoma Metabolites
Original language description
Vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) and homovanillic acid (HVA) are markers of child diseases such as neuroblastoma. In order to increase the electrochemical selectivity to these metabolites, the urea receptor was deposited onto electrode surface through polymerizable thiophene unit. The modified electrode surface was characterized using infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Spectroscopic studies of the modified electrode surface confirmed the formation of the polymeric films derived from urea-based receptor and its attachment through thiophene. Impedimetric detection of metabolite of interest showed the medicinal significance and applicability of the proposed modified electrode.
