Portable Markerless Motion Capture Pipeline
Original language description
A prototype of portable markerless motion capture pipeline enabling the user to capture performance of an actor with 6+ inexpensive optical cameras. The actor can wear casual clothing and there is no need for special background. The system performs automatic calibration and processes all video data in order to reconstruct actors' motion in the form of 3D skeletal animation. Resulting animation is then stored in a custom database from which it can be retrieved, retargeted to a virtual character, and used in a virtual scene. Multiple motions can be seamlessly connected together to create longer animation sequences. The pipeline is customized to work well for pre-producting and pre-vizualization tasks.
