Original language description
The publication provides reflections two Čapek´s plays - R.U.R. and The White Plague from different points of view and the vantage point of up to a century. The first section contains eleven scholarly papers dedicated to the theatrical and historiographical presentation of the stagings, translation and reception of these texts in the interwar and post-war periods. The second section offers a contemporary view on both plays, which are still reaching today´s stages. My chapter (R.U.R. at Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre in Pilsen) is a part of this second section of the publication and reflects our staging of R.U.R. in Pilsen (opening performance in October 2019, directed by Filip Nuckolls). The final part reflects on both Čapek plays primarily from the perspective of precedes or remains the performance of a theatrical work, especially on the visual level.
