Original language description
Electrochemical reduction of the dinuclear ions proceeds via paramagnetic intermediates with considerable metal participation at the singly occupied MO.The main difference between bpip[2,5-bis(1-phenyliminoethyl)pyrazine) and bxip(2,5-bis[1-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)iminiethyl]pyrazine) systems is destabilization of the chloride-containing forms throught the bxip ligand for reason of steric interference.
