A New 'online' Method to Measure Increased Exhaled Isoprene in end-stage Renal Failure.
Original language description
Isoprene is the most abundant hydrocarbon present in breath, and recent reports indicate that breath concentrations increase following haemodialysis. The purpose of this study was to establish that selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) permits the accurate and rapid measurement of breath isoprene in haemodialysis patiens in the clinical setting. The previously reported increase in breath isoprene following dialysis treatment is confirmed.
