New Approach to Sensing Amphiphilic Electrochemically Active Compounds
Original language description
Determination of amphiphilic molecules in various matrices belongs to frequently solved analytical tasks. For this purpose, we have developed an electrochemical sensor based on accumulation of the analyte in a phospholipid (asolectin) membrane formed on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The determination has been carried out applying direct current or differential pulse voltammetry (using standard addition method and calibration line method). As an example, determination of capsaicin and similar compounds (generally capsaicinoids (CPDs)) in different Chilli peppers is described. Two different methods have been tested: direct method on unmodified electrode and transfer method on asolectin modified electrode. The results achieved by differential pulse voltammetry have been statistically compared with those achieved using HPLC/UV.
