Synthesis of New Chiral 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and their application in copper-catalyzed asymmetric allylic oxidation and cyclopropanation.

  • Original language description

A series of isoprenoid derived bipyridine-type ligands has been synthesized via a de novo construction of the pyridine nucleus. When these novel ligands are used in copper catalyzed allylic oxidation of cyclic olefins and cyclopropanation interesting enantioselectivities are observed.
