Original language description
Triacylglycerols (TAGs) from the fat body of several bumblebee species were studied using chromatographic techniques. Semi-preparative thin-layer chromatography was used to isolate the TAGs. Gas chromatography enabled us to identify the fatty acids (FAs)that form bumblebee TAGs and to quantify their proportions. The TAGs were subsequently analysed by HPLC-APCI MS. TAGs were found to be a complex mixture of isomers. The composition of both FAs and TAGs was found to be species-specific. Only minor differences were found among specimens of the same species.

Analýza triacylglycerolů v tukových tělesech čmeláků pomocí chromatografických metod
Czech description
Triacylglyceroly (TAGs) tukových těles čmeláků byly studovány pomocí chromatografických technik. Semipreparativní tenkovrstvá chromatografie byla použita k izolaci TAGs, pomocí plynové chromatografie byly identifikovány a kvantifikovány jednotlivé mastnékyseliny. Následně byly TAGs analyzovány metodou HPLC-APCI MS. Bylo zjištěno, že TAGs tvoří bohatou směs izomerů, jejichž zastoupení je druhově specifické. U různých jedinců stejného druhu byly zjištěny jen minimální rozdíly ve složení TAGs.
