5-Azacytosine compounds in medicinal chemistry: current stage and future perspectives
Original language description
The review summarizes the basic milestones of research of 5-azacytosine nucleosides, and their mechanism of action as inhibitors of DNA methylations. Compounds decitabine and 5-azacytidine became clinically used drugs. The second part of the review is paid to 5-azacytosine acyclic nucleoside analogues and phosphonomethyl derivatives as anti-DNA virus agents.
