Original language description
Recently, metal-mediated base-pairs (metallo-base-pairs) have been studied extensively with the aim of exploring novel base-pairs; their structures, physicochemical properties, and applications have been studied. This trend has become more evident afterthe discovery of Hg-II-mediated thymine-thymine (T-Hg-II-T) and Ag-I-mediated cytosine-cytosine (C-Ag-I-C) base-pairs. In this article, we focus on the basic science and applications of these metallo-base-pairs, which are composed of natural bases.
