Gluten-free but also gluten-enriched (gluten+) diet prevent diabetes in NOD mice; the gluten enigma in type 1 diabetes
Original language description
Significantly lower diabetes incidence was observed in spontaneously diabetic NOD mice fed with 2 gluten-free diets compared to the standard Altromin diet. Surprisingly, gluten-enriched, standard Altromin diet (gluten+) also prevented diabetes, even at the level found with the gluten-free diets. Possible mechanisms of this dual, enigmatic role of dietary gluten are discussed.

Bezglutenová i glutenem obohacená (gluten+) dieta vede k prevenci diabetu u NOD myší; glutenová hádanka v diabetu 1 typu
Czech description
Po podání 2 bezglutenových diet byla pozorována výrazná prevence diabetu u spontánního myšího modelu diabetu 1 typu (NOD myší). Glutenem-obohacená, standardní dieta však vedla k stejně efektivní prevenci onemocnění. V práci jsou diskutovány možné mechanismy tohoto dvojího efektu glutenu u diabetu 1 typu
