Enzymatic approaches to O-glycoside introduction: Glycosidases
Original language description
This chapter describes the formation of O-glycosidic linkages under the catalysis by glycosidases. A wide range of examples demonstrate the broad synthetic potential of these enzymes both on the laboratory and industrial scales. The molecular principlesof all glycosidase-catalyzed reaction types is explained. The authors present diverse glycosyl donors and acceptors and discuss their viability in the synthesis by glycosidases. A special attention is devoted to the use of modified substrates, which enable to introduce other functional moieties in glycostructures. The basic features of glycosidase regioselectivity are specified with respect to the reaction design, mainly to the choice of substrates and the enzyme source
