Secondary flow effects in relatively narrow channels.
Original language description
There are at least three kinds of secondary flows (i.e. any flows in planes perpendicular to the main flow direction) in a typical tturbine rotor cascade - generated by centrifugal forces in closed curved channels, generated by interacting boundary layers, and due to mass inflow through the tip clearance. It has been shown that in relatively narrow channels and in cascades of very low aspect ratio, i.e. in channels with strong interaction of all parts of the flow field, the most important type of secondary flow as regards flow structure and losses is the second one.
