Cylindrical Bending of a Plate on an Elastic Foundation
Original language description
In this chapter, the cylindrical bending of a plate on an elastic foundation is considered. For this type of bending the mathematical mode is developed and it's solution is discussed and particular modes of bending are analysed. The model shows that that, in general, the global maximum of deflection is not located in the centre of a plate but for some specific configurations of geometrical and mechanical properties of a plate and elastic foundation both maximal deflection and maximal bending stress areshifted from the centre to rigid supports. In the end of this chapter the usage of a solution is demonstrated on two examples.
