    Bioactive hydrocarbon plasma polymer films containing 3, 30 and 39 at.% of Ag were seeded with bovine pulmonary artery endothelial cells (line CPAE) or inoculated with bacterium Escherichia coli. The CPAE cells on films with 3 at.% Ag adhered and grew toa similar extent as on the control pure hydrocarbon films or glass slides. By contrast, the CPAE cell adhesion on films with 30 or 39 at.% of Ag was very low, and the cells died before day 7 of cultivation. In bacterial cultures, all silver-containing films attenuated the growth of E. coli as opposed to pure hydrocarbon plasma polymer films

    Vrtstvy hydrokarbonových plasmových polymerů obsahující 3, 30 and 39 atomárních % stříbra byly osazeny endotelovými buňkami bovinní plicní artérie (linie CPAE) nebo kulturami bakterie Escherichia coli. Endotelové buňky na vrstvách se 3 at.% Ag adherovalya rostly v obdobném rozsahu jako na kontrolních vrstvách bez stříbra. Naproti tomu adhese buněk CPAE na vrstvy se 30 nebo 39 at.% Ag byla velmi nízká, a tyto buňky odumřely před 7. dnem kultivace. Vrstvy se stříbrem ve všech koncentracích omezovaly růstbakterie E. coli
