The Huggins viscosity coefficient of aqueous solution of poly(vinyl alcohol).
Original language description
Anomalous values of the Huggins viscosity coefficient found with aqueous solutions of poly(vinyl alcohol) were explained by association of polymer molecules, and the equilibrium constant of association was estimated for samples differing in the content of residual vinyl acetate units. Aging of solutions was attributed to an increase in size and amount of semicrystalline domains acting as multifunctional crosslinking agents.
