Photo-bleaching of polymer discoloration caused by quinone methides.
Original language description
Conjugated dimeric quinone methides arising by oxidation of phenolic antioxidants are considered principal stabilizeer-born contributors to hydrocarbon-based polymer discoloration. Experiments were performed with stilbenequinone 1 arising from 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol, and with two quinone methides (3 and 4), prepared by oxidation of octadecyl-3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoae.
