Preparation of tungsten filters and membranes
Original language description
Tungsten filters and membranes were prepared by three different techniques and their mechanical properties and filtering ability were compared. The preparation consisted of sintering spherical tungsten powders of narrow size classes by common metal filter production technologies. The spherical tungsten powders were prepared by a simple technology. Tungsten powder of a narrow size distribution was injected in a plasma jet generated by a water stabilized plasma torch WSP?, based on the Gerdien arc principle, operating under 160 kW. Prior to sintering, the powders were compacted into cylindrical plates under 100 MPa pressure with a temporary binder ? 6 wt% AC 112 acrylate suspension. First set was prepared by hot isostatic sintering in ASEA HIP D 320 apparatus at 1750°C temperature and in an argone protective atmosphere. Second set was prepared by the gravity sintering technique at the same temperature. Third set was prepared by high pressure compacting in a BELT type apparatus.

Filtry a membrány z wolframu a karbidu wolframu byly připraveny slinutím v plazmatu sferoidizovaných prášků metodou HIP a BELT při 1750°C. Je popsána jejich struktura a základní filtrační charakteristiky.
