Diversity in Unity: Communication Strategies and Target Reader in Three Women´s Magazines
Original language description
Drawing upon the methodology of mass media text analysis suggested by Fairclough, the study offers an insight into the divergences and convergences in the discourse of women?s magazines. Even though the magazines discussed apparently differ in target audience (with regard to age, social status, professional or family role), the distinguishing features generally do not exceed a unifying, constant frame based on providing advice, building a women?s world with men marginalized or excluded, and largely employing the linguistic features of advertising discourse.
