    The paper presents a pilot study of certain quantitative characteristics of phonological words in Czech. We use specific set of rules to segment a written text into the phonological words. Since a phonological word is a unit analogous to an orthographic word, we compare the size of the inventory and the rank-frequency distribution of both units
