The level of speed abilities of Year 5 students attending Elementary School
Original language description
Motoric tests are an important source of information used for regulating the physical training and sport training process. Moreover, they are widely used in physical training researches, physical training practice as well as for the sport talent selection. The basic selection of the sport talents takes place at the enrolment of the children to the sport classes, i.e. around the age of 10-11. At this age the individuals with the talent for given sport discipline are the easiest to spot. The speed abilities are from the point of their development the most limited with the relatively short sensitive period. Therefore, the focus is on the level of the speed abilities of Year 5 students attending Elementary School with the extended teaching of athletics inthe years 2000-2009.
