The following article outlines the system of tertiary education in the Czech Republic, with emphasis on the education of students with special educational needs at the University of Ostrava. It informs about the progress of the project The Support of Tertiary Education of Students with Special Educational Needs at the University of Ostrava (reg. no. OP VK CZ.1.07/2.2.00/29.0006), its outputs and mechanisms supporting equal education. The aim of the project is creation of inclusive university environmentthat is ready to accept students with special needs. The text thus presents the process of innovation of study conditions for all students, but with full respect to a priority requirement, which is the completion of a studied subject in the scope givenby proper accreditation.
