In this work, we deal with image processing, namely with the car license plate recognition task which includes three sub-tasks: car plate position estimation, characters segmentation, and characters recognition. We discuss that a solution design of the sub-tasks is mainly dependent on a point of view to an image and we consider three points of views: mathematical, information technology and human. The goal of the work is to discuss advantages and disadvantages of different approaches categorized for the three points of views in solving the chosen task.
