Popular Optimisation Algorithms with Diversity-based Adaptive Mechanism for Population Size

  • Original language description

An adaptive mechanism for population size which is a parameter of many optimisation algorithms was recently proposed. The mechanism is based on controlling the population diversity. It was verysuccessful when implemented into the differential evolution algorithm and its adaptive versions. The mechanism is employed in several popular optimisation algorithms here. The goal of the research was to find whether the mechanism can increase also their performance or not. Theexperimental tests are carried out on CEC2014 benchmark set.
