CI Approach to Numerical Methods for Solving Fuzzy Integral Equations

  • Original language description

The contribution is focused on what can be called a computational intelligence approach to numerical methods in fuzzy integral equations. We consider a fuzzy Fredholm integral equation of the second kind and propose a new numerical method for finding its approximate solution. The method is based on the technique called fuzzy (F-) transform, which refers to numerical methods that build a solution on a finite number of subdomains and then combine them into a final one. This approach allows us to transform the original Fredholm fuzzy integral equation into a system of algebraic equations. The solution of this algebraic system gives the corresponding parameters of the inverse F1-transform. Therefore, we can estimate the approximate solution of the original problem. We discuss two types of numerical methods based on the F0 and F1- transforms and give numerical examples of both approaches. We study the convergence and approximation quality of a sequence of approximate solutions in terms of the number of subdomains. We compare numerical approaches based on F0 and F1 transforms with similar methods of numerical analysis.
