Advances in computer technology make possible a transition from current structural reliability assessment methods (such as the Partial Factors Method (PFM) [Eurocode 3, 1998]) to probabilistic methods based on the application of the simulation technique(in this paper indicated as the probabilistic method SBRA [Marek, 1995]). This study is focused on the reliability assessment of steel structures containing semi-rigid joints. The differences between reliability assessment based on the PFM and on the SBRA method are specified spelled-out and discussed
