    Bridge structures influence considerably quality of roads. They were verified by extensive floods in 1997 and 2002 in Czech Republic. According to damage analyses in the Jeseniky mountain region 75 from 917 bridges were damaged (8,2%) in the 1997 flood.All those bridges were designed and built according to Czech Technical Standards for designing the bridges. These standards need to be revised, but first, input information is needed for such an alteration. Main emphasis of the paper is placed on use ofgeographic information system (GIS) and hydrology to analyze the data about water courses, drainage basins and their relations to roads and bridge constructions and uncertainties sequent upon basic design data (hundred years flow, flood flow, etc). Outputs will be conceived as input characteristics for revision of current standards for designing and reconstructing of bridges.

    Mosty výrazně ovlivňují kvalitu pozemních komunikací. V letech 1997 a 2002 v České republice byly mosty vyzkoušeny rozsáhlými povodněmi. 75 z 917 mostů (8,2%) v oblasti Jeseníků bylo poškozeno v roce 1997. Všechny byly navrženy a postaveny podle platnýchČSN norem a přesto. Pro změnu norem je nejprve potřeba získat vstupní informace. Hlavní důraz příspěvku je kladen na GIS a hydrologii k analýze dat o vodotečích, povodích a jejich vztahu k pozemním komunikacím a mostům a nejistotám v návrhových datech (100-letý průtok, atd.).
