Assessment of loss results by means of multi - Criteria analysis
Original language description
The paper discusses the practical application and usage of the Multi - Criteria Decision Analysis (MDCA) in the area of enterprise risk management. It describes approach of the analysis and presents its contribution. The whole concept of the MDCA is supported by a practical case study which has been done in an international industrial company with a metallurgical orientation that focuses on iron, steel and secondary production. The mentioned case study has been done in the Coking plant of that company for the system of devices which store benzole, and models potential release of this dangerous liquid from the storage. The MDCA, which is used here, represents the approach with which to evaluate possible loss of human life, surrounding buildings and their construction, technical and technological devices during an extraordinary event such as fire or explosion. Contribution of this approach and next research in this area are outlined in the conclusion.
