The position of the company on the market depends on a lot of factors. It is mainly the business field, a size of the company, an orientation on a customer and competitiveness. The last aspect is a quite important and brings a question how the companiescan get the competitive advantage currently. The possible way is the risk management. This has gradually found the application in a huge range of the companies and the activities. The presented work focuses on the risk management in a sphere of extraordinary major accidents connected with the fire and the explosion formation within Enterprise risk management system. The particular goal of the paper is a presentation of the obtained results from the research in a sphere of major accidents caused by the fires and the explosion.
