    Numerical analysis and experimental validation of the thermal response of light weight timber frame structures

  • Original language description

    The aim of this article is to compare winter and summer thermal response of light weight timber frame wall by the simultaneous use of experimental measurements and numerical simulations. The measurements were taken on an experimental timber frame passivehouse. The numerical modelling of the external wall is solved using the ANSYS software. The results of research are presented and discussed. It is shown that the numerical simulation methods are suitable tools for the prediction of thermal performance of light-weight timber frame structures. The dynamic simulations can more precisely analyse the connections and developments of the parameters within the building as a whole and come closer to the real conditions under which the building is used.
