Original language description
Single Burning Item fire test is one of the tests that are used for the classification of building products by reaction to fire. SBI fire test is used for classification of building products to class D, C, B, A2 and follows after Small Attack Flame fire test used for classification to class E. Within the research of natural building materials was in 2015 performed a Single Burning Item fire test of crushed straw. Crushed straw is a natural material with great potential for use in building constructions. Crushed straw has very good thermal insulation properties, is a cheap, environmentally friendly and fully recyclable. In building constructions it can be used as a filling thermal insulation. Currently is the research focused on the determination of crushed straw fire parameters. This article describes the results of SBI fire test and ignitability fire test of crushed straw.
