Original language description
If we study the almost entire 100 year built works of funeral architecture, i tis necessary to consider the significant influence of the socio-economic environment at the end of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and the establishing years of the independent Czechoslovakian state. The article shows that the political leadership and the creation of state laws played a significant role in the creation of new architectural styles, in this example, of crematoriums, and how much the overlapping style of the 20th influenced their final appearance. Thus, often before realization takes place from the architectural competition, the project is reworked and transformed into another architectural style. It is evident, that the pushing forth of national tendencies can have greater power over the final design than artistic taste itself. The mentiones phenomenon is demonstrated on the examples of crematoriums in Ostrava, Pardubice and Ďáblice cemetery in the styles of Czech cubism and rondo-cubism designed by Pavel Janák and Vlastislav Hofman.
