Vibration as a risk factor in the working environment
Original language description
Vibration is a very frequent and also, from the point of view of protection of health at work, very significant risk factor of the working environment. Unfavourable health impacts of exposure to vibration are very usual and serious and, first of all, anyefficient personal protective equipment for the mitigation or elimination of the influence of vibration does not exist. Possibilities of minimization of undesirable occupational diseases consist especially in the systematic objectification of exposure to vibration in real conditions of work and in the determination (by calculation) such modes of work that will enable exposure below the hygienic limits for a shift valid for hand-transmitted vibration and for whole-body vibration. The article also contains specific examples of measurement and assessment of hand-transmitted vibration at work with electric hand-held tools assuming the different adaptability of each operator and whole-body vibration when operating machinery in real work con
