Complex approach to assess accidental gas explosions in buildings
Original language description
The contribution deals with complex approach to the assessment of buildings subjected to the effects of primary internal explosions of gas mixtures. The paper describes chosen buildings accidents due to the gas explosion in the Czech Republic. These incidents will be analysed by both simple and advanced (CFD and/or FEA) methods. Used methods will be focused on complex description of particular accidents in relation to the leak of the flammable mixture and origin of its hazardous concentration, to quantification of explosion parameters and to the consecutive response of chosen structure elements or the whole structure. The results of the analyses could be used as a basic material for design of new buildings or for safe design of current buildings exposed to the risk of the gas explosion. Another use is in the field of investigation of the causes of the emergencies associated with the explosions of flammable gas mixtures.
