    Numerical modeling and experimental investigation of internal gas deflagration

  • Original language description

    Accidents caused by explosion of various gases represent high danger mainly in the branches as gas manufacture, petro chemistry, extraction of mineral raw materials and others. However, explosion hazard may exist in all engineering buildings and structures where gas is used. This paper deals with modeling of accidents connected with leak and following explosion of flammable gas. This contribution describes the explosion of the apartment house with tragic consequences. Within this paper, computational methods for determination of amount and time of gas leak are presented. Numerical modeling is used for determination of gas spreading in the object and for a course of following deflagration. Numerical models are verified using simplified experiments. Numerical modeling could be a good instrument for prevention and investigation of accidents.
