Original language description
Railway transport is one of the significant areas for the functioning of human so-ciety. The task of transport is well-thought movement of goods and persons from one place to another. The essence of railway transport is the service of transport-ing people and goods by rail using railway infrastructure, railway vehicle and un-der the supervision of rail traffic management systems. However, elements of the railway infrastructure are constantly threatened by a wide range of different threats, which may cause a disruption of their functionality or a threat to the safe-ty of transported persons. At present, attention is also significantly focused on the protection of so-called soft targets. This focus is also reflected in the field of rail-way transport and railway infrastructure. To ensure the protection of the soft tar-gets of railway infrastructure, threats need to be assessed comprehensively so that an effective response to these threats can be ensured. The aim of this article is to present the procedure of assessing the threats of soft targets of railway infrastruc-ture according to the level of their danger resulting from the level of expected im-pact. Various threats enter into this assessment in order to maintain the complexi-ty of this assessment.
