Vibration of unbalanced rotors supported by long segment bearings taking into account air dissolved in the lubricant
Original language description
Application of long segment hydrodynamical bearings increases attenuation and stability limit of lateral vibration of rotors. In real technological conditions the lubricating oil contains air bubbles which can significantly influence dynamical behaviourof the whole system. Incorporation of this phenomenon into the computational models requires to determine dependence of the lubricant density on pressure. The pressure distribution in the bearing gap is described by a Reynolds' equation valid for compressible media. A finite difference method applied for its solving arrives at a set of differential equations that are consequently transformed into a set of nonlinear algebraic ones. Solution of the equation of motion is performed by menas of a modified Newmark method. Advantage of the introduced transformation consists in possibility to separate calculation of the pressure distribution in the bearings from solving the equation of motion of the rotor system.
