Refinement of structure of the AlMn1Cu by new type of the ECAP tool
Original language description
The AlMn1Cu system is used for manufacture of foils for food industry. Manufacturing method requires great number of thermal-mechanical operations. In order to achieve highly fine-grained structure already after the continuous casting process it was proposed to verify structural and mechanical properties of this alloy by the ECAP technology with new geometry of the pressing channel, which enables achievement of higher amount of deformation (and therefore of structure refinement). This represents re-engineering of the SPD process by change of the deformation route at individual passes through the forming tool. At this process the amount of deformation increases by 20 to 30 %, which leads to quicker grain refinement and therefore to substantial enhancement of mechanical properties with preservation of good formability. At the same time mathematical simulation of the SPD process was realised and obtained results were compared. Metallographic analysis was made on the initial structural sta
