Possibilities of the machining nickel alloys
Original language description
The article deals with possibilities of dry cutting (milling and turning) nickel alloys. INCONEL 718 was chosen as a representative alloy from the nickel alloys. It describes, what tool geometry and what cutting material, which is describe in literature,is optimal to machining INCONEL 718. Next it deals with practical exams, which have verify information from literature. Nickel alloys are used in many branches of industry in environments, where is demand on increased immunity of material in comparisonwith corrosion, on retain strength at high temperatures or where take into consideration on weight of components. Correct choice of cutting material, tool geometry and cutting parameters are able to have positive influence on the cost reduction in machining these hardworking materials.
