Assessment of Centreline Temperature of Fire Plume with Respect to a Gas Hot Layer
Original language description
A developing fire is accompanied by the formation and progress of a burnt gas column which is usually labelled as a Fire Plume. One of the basic characteristics of a Fire Plume is temperature. A Fire Plume is usually characterized by a mean temperature, centreline temperature and the temperature in a radial distance from the centreline. A specific case is the determination of the centreline temperature of a Fire Plume with respect to the action of an accumulated hot gas layer. This paper presents methods to determine the centreline and radial temperatures of Fire Plumes not relating to the hot gas layer and, in particular, a method to determine the centreline temperature of a Fire Plume in relation to its presence. In conclusion, the results of a comparison of the described computational methods and a procedure for practical applications is recommended.
