    The paper is devoted to the active decreasing of the rigid rotor vibrations in a journal bearing. Using analytical methods it is shown that the force actuating on a rotor can increase the Bently-Muszynska stability threshold. The analytical conclusions were confirmed by digital simulation and experimentally on the real laboratory model.
