Numerical Modelling of the Fluid Flow Through a Directional Valve
Original language description
This paper is dealing with the numerical modelling of the flow through a directional valve. The flow through a valve was modelled using a static model in which the valve was assumed stationary and the flow prediction was of the steady flow through the open valve. For the numerical modelling Computational Fluid Dynamics /CFD/ Software FLUENT 4.5 /structured mesh/and FLUENT 5 /unstructured mesh/ was used, based on the control volume method. Preprocessing modelu GAMBIT was used for geometry modelling and mesh generation. Both 2D and 3D model was used. The influence of the mesh quality, boundary conditions, wall functions and solution parameters was tested and hydrodynamic forces were evaluated.
