The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which was founded as an independent faculty in 1990, is developing in line with the needs of restructuring of industry in the North Moravian region in the Czech Republic. Mutual active collaboration with big industrial and power companies, as well as smaller private firms, is essential to the faculty in terms of education and also science and research. Also, the faculty enjoys long-term collaboration with Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Technical University of Opole in Poland; this collaboration intensified after accession of both countries to the EU. Collaboration developed both in the education and research areas. The result of this long-term collaboration is a project under the close-border cooperation programme INTERREG. Dialogue between representatives of the industry and universities can contribute substantially to increasing the efficiency of collaboration

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which was founded as an Fakulta elektrotechniky a informatiky, která je od roku 1990 samostatnou fakultou, se vyvíjí společně s potřebami restrukturalizace průmyslu v severomoravském regionu v České republice. Vzájemná aktivní spolupráce s velkými průmyslovými a energetickými společnostmi, ale i s menšími soukromými firmami, je pro fakultu nezbytná, pokud jde o vzdělávání, ale také o vědu a výzkum. Fakulta dlouhodobě spolupracuje s Fakultou elektrotechniky a automatizace, Technické univerzity Opole v Polsku, tato spolupráce zintenzívněla po vstupu obou zemí do EU. Spolupráce se rozvíjí v pedagogické i výzkumné oblasti. Výsledkem dlouhodobé spolupráce je projekt pro přeshraniční spolupráci INTERREG. Dialog mezi představiteli průmyslu a universit může podstatně přispět ke zvýšení schopnosti spolupracovat
