Educational prototypes of real-time control systems
Original language description
The paper deals with the possibilities of implementation the controllers based on modern control theory. It describes modern tools to design and implement these algorithms on xPC Target and PAC(Programmable Automation Controller). The goal of this paperis to sum up the capabilities of xPC-based control systems compared to modern ICP DAS compact controllers in the field of automation in education and industry. The whole control design is done in Matlab&Simulink environment which is also used for programming the controller. Such approach when the model stands in the centre of the whole process is then introduced as model-based design. Physical model of ball and beam was chosen as a typical vivid educational model.
