This paper deals with storage systems of electric energy gained from renewable energy sources. It is focused on storage systems using hydrogen technologies. There are described single parts of these systems and principle of their operation. Special attention is paid to fuel cells and their lifetime and degradation rate. This paper introduces some characteristics of proton exchange membrane fuel cell system.
