Control Methods of Active Power Filters Using Soft Computing Techniques
Original language description
This paper presents soft computing techniques (combination of fuzzy system techniques and artificial intelligence, which is also known as Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Interference Systems - ANFIS), to design a new control scheme for switching a shunt active power filter - SAPF. The predictive and adaptive properties of ANFIS are used for fast estimation of the compensating current. Within the executed experiments there was created a complex adaptive system based on the ANFIS structure. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method. This control method helps reduce harmonics, has short dynamic response time and effectively improves the total harmonic distortion -THD. It is also useful and applicable to other active filters, especially for nonlinear control systems.
