Strain gauge sensor for the Internet of Things
Original language description
The aim of this article is to design and implement smart devices for measuring roof loads and then early warning system. The resulting measurement unit consists of a resistance strain gauge whose analog output is converted to a 24-bit digital value using the Avia Semiconductor's HX711 A/D converter, which is further processed in a Raspberry Pi microcomputer. The processed data are supplemented with the current temperature measurement at the strain gauge to check its temperature dependence and sent to the In uxDB database. The warning and data monitoring system is then handled by the Chronograph interface. This article includes a small research for the use of strain gauge for this type of measurement.
