Topological optimization of offshore wind farm cable routing system based on an improved equilibrium optimization algorithm
Original language description
The investment cost of submarine cables is vital in an offshore wind farm, making the optimization of electrical infrastructure highly significant. An improved equilibrium optimization algorithm (IEOA) is presented to address it in this paper. This algorithm integrates the advantages of the equilibrium optimization algorithm (EOA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) to enhance the topological structure of the cable layout. The EOA explores the search space, while the PSO utilizes its internal memory to focus on promising areas. This integration increases both diversification and intensification of the search. In the end, the proposed IEOA is validated on some test functions and applied to the cable layout optimization task. For the topological structure of the cable layout, the results show that the proposed IEOA saved the total cost by 2.94%,10.98%,7.56%, and 5.57% than the PSO, SCA, GWO, and EOA, respectively for the variable offshore substation (OS) location. And it decreased the overall cost by 4.15%,16.38%, 14.73%, and 6.59%, respectively for the fixed OS location. Therefore, IEOA is a promising and reliable method to optimize the topology design of cable layout connection system.
