Energy Efficiency of Vehicle-to-Grid Cycle in Real Application

  • Original language description

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology in the power engineering area marks a change towards enhancing grid dynamics and elevating energy storage systems. The article presents an empirical analysis of V2G energy efficiency utilizing a Nissan Leaf as the research vehicle. The selected Nissan Leaf exhibits a State of Health (SoH) at 77.3%, accrued mileage of 111 656 km, and displays an estimated range of 148 km on a full charge. The main point of the article topic is the efficacy of energy transfer in an off-grid scenario between the electric vehicle (EV) and the microgrid. The findings indicate that the V2G energy cycle efficiency stands at 68.43 %. These observations contribute to the foundational research necessary for optimizing micro-grid systems. The experiment is contextualized within Central Europe's environmental and microgrid conditions, providing a specific landscape for assessing V2G system viability. This article is a test case for future potential research.
