Original language description
On January 1, 2002, the new Law on Waste, No. 185/2001 Coll., came into legal force. This Law introduces a new definition of waste and some other basic concepts. The passing of the new Law on Waste, No. 185/2001 Coll., and the related regulations for implementation is a further step in improving waste management. The paper also deals with the Law No. 100/2001 Coll. on environmental impact assessment. The paper describes all steps of environmental impact assessment process according to the Law No. 100/2001 Coll. Screening process (according to § 7 of the Law No. 100/2001 Coll.) is completely new part of the Environmental Impact Assessment Legislation in the Czech Republic. The final part of paper deals with the environmental impact assessment of structures in branch of waste management and mining industry in the Czech Republic.
